1.1 Background of the Study
Teaching or instructing is one of the most important professions in the world. It is also one of the most difficult professions because of the glaring complexities of human behavior and the fact that formal education has not designed very effective methods of dealing within learners on individual basis.
Before now, the teaching of web designing has been made available only to a privileged few. Probably, computer user in training courses, students of computer related course in institution of higher learning and those who can afford to pay for their exorbitant prices in the conventional training centers.
For this reason, we have accepted to develop a teaching media for web designing (software) this has incidentally collided with the era of information revolution which has also been applied to different parts of our individual endeavors. This software is to benefit the general people at large.
1.2 Statement of the Problem
Today, most African educationists and learners have little access or interest in the use of Computer Assisted Learnings. Up until recently, in most African institutes of higher learning, the face-to-face method of learning has been applied. However, there are always problems of getting qualified personnel with the required idea on now to impact this knowledge. This in turn hinders effective transfer of knowledge to long distance based students. Thus, the learning process can be exploited to its fullest if it can cater to distance based students, the cheapest and most efficient means is to teach as an expert through the use of software. This calls for the need to have a Computer Assisted Learning that can effectively cater to the needs of students anytime, anywhere and under any condition. The cheapest and most efficient means is to teach as an expert through the use of software
In this context, one of the problem lie on how to interface man to the computer system and at the same time learns how the sources are shared. Other problem includes.
1.3 Aim and Objectives of the Study
Every research work has its own aim and objectives. The primary aim of this project is to design, develop and implement tutorial software to teach Computer Studies (Computer Assisted Learning).
The software will among other things as its objectives
1.4 Significance of the Study
The use of Computer Assisted Learning goes a long way to solve the problems of face-to-face learning process. However, the computerization of the learning process will provide advantages such as the ease of distance-learning, proper management of student information, and will also help in prevention of data loss as documentation will be computerized and not manual. Also, this work will help in instructing students in studying their courses and also improve their attitude towards the use of the computer.
1.5 Scope of the Study
My intension in this work is limited to the development of the program that will be focused on teach management, proper documentation of student’s information and determines ways to effectively manage the learning process.
1.6 Limitations of the Study
A few factors affected my efforts towards a better development of this project work. The most prevailing being time factor, as other school extra curricula activities and studies had to be met with. There was problem of irregular power supply during the coding and typing of the project.
