Abstract

The working principles of a window air conditioning system was described with the mode of operationg of the refrigeration cycle and its construcion. The aim of every window Air conditioning system is to achieve cooling. Change of temperature system were discussed with the methods of improving the performance of th window Air Conditioning Unit for better efficiency. This work simply explains how the performance of the window Air Conditioning system can be improved and why it is more economical to use the window air conditioning system than split Unit Air Conditioning system.

INTRODUCTION

1.1   STATEMENT OF PROBLEM

The need of adequate supply of comfortable environment in our homes and industries cannot be overemphasized. Due to our temperature climate, there is need for the improvement of home and office working conditions by the use of Air Conditioning Systems.

1.2   OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

The purpose of this study is to reveal the method of improving the performance of window air conditioning system and how its maintenance can be carried out property to provide comfort to the occupants and patrons of the conditioned space, to identity the factors contributing to poor performance of air conditioning system and how to improve the economic life span of the unit.

 

1.3   SIGNIFICANCE OF STUDY 

The relevance of this study is to proffer ways to improve the performance of window air conditioning system with a view to establishing a measure of remedy.

1.4   SCOPE OF STUDY 

The project work is based on the cooling system of window air conditioning system and how its performance can be improved.

1.5   METHODOLOGY

The methods adopted for the purpose of this research work were purely analytical with sources of information from various forms of the modern media like the internet, encyclopedia and the Enugu State University of Science and Technology library.
