THE EFFECT OF RISK MANAGEMENT ON THE PERFORMANCE OF SELECTED COMMERCIAL BANKS IN ANAMBRA STATE, NIGERIA (A CASE STUDY OF ABAGANA, NJIKOKA, NIMO)
This study focused on the effect of risk management on the performance of selected commercial banks in Enugu State, Nigeria. The Commercial banks were selected on a cross sectional basis. The work evaluated the link between risk management and bank performance. The study is relevant because of the growing importance of risk management as the economic environment changes in the face of intense competition, rapid innovation in financial markets, application of technology and the globalization of financial markets. The study utilized survey research design because of the type of information needed. Structured questionnaire was used to collect data for this work and Chi-square statistical approach was used in testing the acceptability or otherwise of the hypotheses formulated. The results showed that effective risk management significantly affects the performance of banks.
