1.1     BACKGROUND OF STUDY

one of the perennial problem of an organization is how to stimulate their employees to enable the stated targets come true .

In the civil industry(Ministry Of Education) activities are carried out depending on how workers are best motivated . the ability to understand why people behave the way they do and ability to motivate them in a specific manner so as to produce results are the inter –related roles which are extremely vital for managerial effectiveness .

In reply to an organization , there are places notable important to be mention where motivation in work performance can occur . against this  background , through understanding of motivation is based on a through understanding of human need . human need determines the eagerness of employees to face a given job . The paying cashier for example whose individual objective is to live in a flat rather than two room , need to work energetically toward accomplishing this goal . it is because of this need , motivation in work performance can now take place in carrying out his allocated work to complete his mission .

Besides , individual worker’s need is not the place of motivation in work performance , the next is the relation ship between the employees . employees need employer’s cooperation in order to motivate his (employer’s ) human and industrial worker will execute his work in to reach the stated objectives . employer is bound in organization or industry to cooperate unanimously with his employees as that will server as one of the essential tools for enhancement of work performance in an organization . in carrying out this activity , he is expected to jointly introduce some conditions of work , like fixing a suitable worker for a suitable job . paying cashers is note for his ability to settle customers as quickly as possible . to avoid discriminatory practice , people who could effectively do their job will be eliminated with much active ones so as to attain the highest performance and more so to retain their customers

Furthermore, employees have to be adequately compensated. The compensation could be seen as their monthly salaries which individual workers realized as their primary objectives of engaging with the Ministry Of Education. They have to be sufficiently paid for the services rendered to the ministry. Compensation is now clarified and remains the central tool for improving employee performance. A worker will because sufficient payment and increase in salaries be motivated to carry on with the said ministry then eating his own ‘pear’ usually to the detriment of the continued life of the ministry and quit.

The management also will implement his duty like introducing rules and policies of the ministry to enhance motivation and maintain their viability. Appropriate policies have to be administered to expand much beyond what was possible.

  • STATEMENT OF PROBLEMS
  1. Climatic condition
  2. Promotion
  3. Welfare of workers
  4. Working materials
  5. Job rotation

A key duty of every manager in the field of Business Administration is motivating others. It is realized that the attitude to work of every  public officer is characterized by a lot of indifferences and poor reactions of management to their subordinates.

Management cannot achieve the industrial aim without putting things in order of the climatic conditions of workers as one of the external factor, which will help to motivate them. When the environment is no longer conducive, workers will loose their spirit of competition in the view of attaining their goals. Workers are promoted due to the job well done.

Promotion helps to eliminate the extreme selfishness and discriminatory practice and increase work performance, which is the management common target. The employee’s welfare is another avenue for expanding organization performance. This is done by rendering the treatments to the employees such as provision of staff bus that normally picks and drops the staff in their various destinations.

Also, working materials of superior qualities have to be equipped example (money counter machine) that will facilitate the numerous jobs of that department.

Job rotation is duly considered appropriate as that creates room to determine efficiently of the employee. It is against these mentioned facts that Ministry of Education is chooses, to detect how far their staff are motivated and what motivates them.

Also, Undergraduates in Universities, Colleges of Educations and Tertiary Institution whose Discipline could be Business Administration and Management. The households gain their objectives as well.

Motivation is an incentive, which opens away for improving employee’s performance. Hence there is hope for reward, employee willingly works hard daily and increase productivity so employer obtain his purpose. The common agreement leads to unity between the employee and employer.

Motivation is seen as a force that moves one to behave the way he does. A parent could motivate a child by thanking him and buy snacks for work well done at home. This child must be pushed to work harder the next day. Also, other children will emulate him and at the end the family obtains its objective.

Employer is bound to plan for employee’s improvement in work performance to expected efficiency at the end. Management is important hence it arranges plans for satisfying needs for both employer and the employee to achieve aim.

INSTRUMENT

The instruments used in this research include questionnaire and oral interview. It has two parts  (A & B). The first part is demographic study (personal data) refers to the respondents’ data which include sex, marital status and qualifications. While the second part is all about how both the management and staff of the ministry view motivation. It is also to investigate its either positive or negative effect after using the motivational tools in such organization.

Oral interview was applied also because of the limited time given for this research. It helps me to investigate and observe whether the management practice this motivation or whether the positive answers given in the questionnaire are oral. The staff may be afraid of giving correct written information. My observation in this are is that the staff need to be really add more incentives for their efficiency.
